Lingerie
When shopping & buying lingerie, "The idea is to have fun with it," says Jonathan Celaya, a lingerie consultant of a posh Hollywood boudoir shop which indulges celebrity clients. With this in mind, I've compiled some basic tips worth considering.
Do make use of the dressing rooms. They really are there for a reason. I hate them as much as the next shopper, but just ignore the obscene lighting & tacky mirrors. The point is to select something that'll be comfortable & complimentary to your body, without being too loose or constricting. The fabric should feel soft next to the skin. Some lacy pieces may look just divine on a hanger, but they can be down-right agitating once they are worn. Choose something that makes you feel sexy or romantic — whatever the mood you are trying to achieve may be. A fun option would be to include your partner in this. You can model the potential picks — that is, if he/she is comfortable with doing so. This will ensure the final choice(s) are appealing to both of you. Perhaps, before even venturing to a lingerie boutique, sit down with your mate & browse through some intimate apparel catalogs. Make note (mental or written) of the kinds of materials & styles each of you tends to be most drawn toward. Promise to be completely honest about your likes & dislikes before the first page is opened. This process not only is a fun, good quality-time activity, but can be a springboard to finding a style that'll be mutually pleasurable. If you are shopping alone or just want to surprise your honey but are still feeling confused about what might be most enticing, Celaya suggests "the ensemble that most men choose: a garter belt & lace bra in scarlet or black."
