Mourning the Loss of our Pets

One of the hardest things to do is to deal with the loss of a pet. Many times their passing is due to many days or months of illness, giving us time to prepare, but other times it is too quick and sudden, leaving us in wonder.

Over the past month I have lost 5 of my older rats and my flying squirrel mom, plus a few assorted mice. Some of these passings were a blessing, since the rats were ill and not aging well. The squirrel was by accident, and she left us with her three 4-week old babies to finish raising.

Many of you are familiar with the poem, "The Rainbow Bridge", which is an excellent poem about where our pets go when they leave their bodies.

Here is a list of sites you can visit to help you cope with the loss of your pet.
