There have been many advances in flight simulators. The first being the better graphics and higher resulutions that could be used. The second being new contols that you could use to contol your plane. Mainly the joystick. Joysticks are now digital instead of the anolog joysticks of yesterday. The new digital joysticks are provide optimal speed, precision, and performance. Optical tracking systems maximizes reliability and eliminates drift.The next advance was voice intergration. This greatly raised the realism of flight Simulators. Now you could issue commands to other pilots and flight controlers and they can issue commands to you. Next came the ability to make a identical replica of a air port a hole city or the hole United States. By the use of satellite photos and maps software developers can duplicate any object many times very easily. This adds an extreme amount of realism. When you are flying over New York and see the Statue of Liberty or when you fly over the Grand Canyon you know that it is real..........
