United Media: The Comic Strip
United Media was the first syndicate to establish a major Web presence. It now offers all of its comics, including Dilbert and Peanuts.
Universal Press Syndicate
The syndicate that brings you Doonesbury, Calvin & Hobbes, For Better or Worse and other favorites now offers its strips and editorial cartoons after a two week delay from newspaper publication. For the strips with regularly-appearing characters, there is a page which describes them (except Doonsebury, presumably because there are several hundred thousand characters, figuratively speaking). The merchandise section is very well done.
Snobs Daily
This page features the current day's strip by each of the eight members of the Art Comic Syndicate. This is "alternative" comics material that mainstream newspapers don't run.
Original Cartoon Art
This amazing site offers for sale the original cartoons from dozens of today's top cartoonists. Even if you aren't looking to buy, you can have fun checking out the samples.
Callahan Online
This is a fun daily panel cartoon backed up by an entertaining Web site.
